Donnie Campbell
Coach Donnie Campbell has been referred to as the inspiration for the character, ”Ted Lasso”.
Back in the late 90’s, Campbell coached basketball at Shawnee Mission West. It was here that Campbell coached Jason Sudeikis who today is an American actor and the star of the 5-time Emmy Award winning show, Ted Lasso.
On the Today Show, Good Morning America and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Sudeikis revealed that Coach Donnie Campbell was in part the inspiration for the lead character he plays on the hit television series.
